Katie Allen is a web developer and freelance artist, with a busy life to boot. Before DropTask [Ayoa]*, she was struggling to manage her many tasks and duties. DropTask [Ayoa] has allowed Katie to organize her multiple projects, and in a visual format which best suits her workload. Read on to see how DropTask [Ayoa] works for Katie, and to discover why she’s deleted her Trello boards.

I am a web developer and artist who can never find enough hours in the day. It seems I have an unusually long, complex list of things to get done in my free time – whether that be art projects, administrative tasks, generating ideas, general chores or budgeting. While some people may look for things to fill their time with on the weekend, I spend mine narrowing down to-dos and prioritizing my many outstanding tasks.

Before I discovered DropTask [Ayoa], I was always struggling – I had more ideas of things to do, than time to do them in! I spent my time juggling the lists I had in Google Keep and the projects on my Trello boards. I even tried planning out my work by hand, but it was a waste of time that resulted in me continually rewriting my pending tasks as priorities shifted.

I knew I wanted an app that would give me the freedom to break away from lists and columns. I am a visual person, and I often end up grouping related things together when organizing tasks. Before DropTask [Ayoa], the only way I could get anything near the visual organization I wanted was to write everything down on paper – but this was time-consuming and messy.

Since finding DropTask [Ayoa], I’ve deleted all my Trello boards. There’s only so many columns a person can make use of – visually, things just weren’t how I wanted them. Now, my many to-dos all live in DropTask [Ayoa]. It takes away from the stress I dealt with previously, now I know everything is all in one place. I have a visual map of all the ideas and tasks in my head, with everything kept safe and accessible – even when it might be months before I have time to tackle a project, I know it won’t be forgotten. Using DropTask [Ayoa], all the things I intend to do, get done.

There are tons of features that I like in DropTask [Ayoa], particularly the spatial organization of tasks. With categories, subcategories and color coding, I can see everything at a glance! Being able to move things around – and more than just linearly – is particularly helpful. My many priorities, tasks, and ideas don’t fit neatly into lists. DropTask [Ayoa] manages to have a simple interface, yet still have the ability to support large amounts of information visually. With progress bars, dependencies, checklists, Now, Next and Soon markers, as well as importance and urgency flags – every task can be broken into as much, or as little, detail as I’d like.

Whether it’s reminding me to meditate, or getting through my arts and craft projects – with DropTask [Ayoa], I do it all.
