If there was one type of productivity, every workplace would have mastered it by now. In fact, understanding everyone’s individual approach to achieving success in the workplace can be a challenge, but it will help you get the most out of your team. Productivity expert, Carson Tate, believes there are 4 distinct approaches to personalizing our workload. Fortunately, DropTask serves for each of them. Each one has its own unique way of helping you to cope with workloads and tasks. Read on for top tips and best practices for task management that will help you become your best productive self, whichever style you relate to most.

The Prioritizer

The prioritizer works based on logic, which to them is rooted firmly in being realistic and foregrounding important tasks. This would be the type of individual to utilize Filters to quickly access the information they need in order to find the tasks labelled highly in Importance and Urgency. They would also benefit from the Daily Summary Email which would help them apply logic straight from the off with a handy morning summary of their tasks for the upcoming days. Prioritizers are analytic types and place a great deal of importance in acknowledging precisely how long tasks will take so they can manage their workload more accurately. The Progress Bar for tasks would be used frequently by the Prioritizer so that they can understand exactly where they stand on a task and adjust their bar accordingly.

The Planner

Similar to the Prioritizer in some respects, the Planner is focused more on organization, sequences and thorough planning, rather than prioritizing important workloads. Detailed, comprehensive but most significantly punctual, the Planner could feed off scheduling their workload in the Calendar to have a clear plan for the days, weeks or months ahead. Planners would make use of Checklists to gain greater insights into the details of a project, break larger tasks into smaller subtasks and subsequently achieve maximum productivity. Likewise, they would set timely Reminders and concise Start and Due Dates to ensure that deadlines never pass them by.

The Arranger

More of a team-player and natural communicator, the Arranger has their focus set on interacting with others to boost and support team morale, significantly improving team productivity and output. They could offer support and encourage team unity using the Comments and Messaging feature. Likely to be the one Inviting others to projects and tasks, the Arranger is all about seeing what others are up to so they can keep on the same page to ensure maximum productivity. Rather than using individual Calendars, the Arranger would keep a watchful eye on Team Calendars so that when a team member is mid-task, they can offer supportive words of wisdom.

The Visualizer

The project planner of the group. Their DropTask Canvas is likely to be exploding with ideas which to others might seem like an unworkable, jumbled up mess – but for them, it works. They’re an exceptionally holistic individual who is likely to be involved in Creating a Project for others to work off. Someone who thrives under pressure and would much rather negotiate multiple tasks at once rather than tick tasks off individually, the Visualizer is the type to take on tasks marked highly in Effort. Especially innovative and creative, the Visualizer could also have fun with Cover Images and add some visual stimulation to their Canvas to optimize productivity. A brain bursting with ideas, the Visualizer is likely to Attach numerous links and files to their tasks in search for new information and breakthroughs.

Whatever your productivity type, DropTask has an abundance of features that will help you tap into each of these different working styles. If you can begin to understand each individual type of productivity in your workplace, you can start to improve your team’s output and become a more productive environment.
