Dyslexia is a lifelong learning condition which can impact many parts of an individual’s life, and at any stage of it. Knowing the signs of dyslexia in both childhood and adulthood can therefore make a big difference, not least due to the fact that it can lead to a diagnosis which will help in sourcing support and figuring out ways to better handle certain activities.

What is the Diagnosing Dyslexia template?

Dyslexia is actually more common than most people think. A big reason for people being shocked by the fact that 1 in 10 people are dyslexic is that so often it goes undiagnosed. Can you imagine the difference in how dyslexia is perceived and the help people would receive if dyslexia was actually diagnosed in line with its commonality?

This template illuminates some of the common experiences of dyslexia throughout ages so that adults can consider whether they, and/or their children should seek a diagnosis.

Why should you use the Diagnosing Dyslexia template

With there being little education upon dyslexia in society, it is understandable that it so often goes unnoticed in individuals. The extent to which this is true is that many adults can live the majority of their life without knowing before a child of theirs gets diagnosed due to have similar traits to them in their late teens. This shouldn’t be the case though.

In fact, as dyslexia is often hereditary, if parents were able to become aware of their dyslexia prior to having children, they could be aware of signs to look out for whilst their child is developing. This is a much better outcome as can then help them in development, growing up, education, whole life to understand themselves rather than battling and being called names.
