“BayShore Group is an extremely faced paced establishment and working environment, but with no set way to manage projects it was proving very difficult to keep everyone on the same page and up to date with all of the company’s activities and projects. We needed a new way of working, and so decided to use DropTask.

In DropTask, there’s the option to create multiple “projects”, and within each project, you’re able to create all of your tasks and organize them by grouping them into categories. However, the way we use DropTask is slightly different. Instead of creating new “Projects” for our actual projects, we use the “Projects” portion for each of our employees; so a project’s title becomes the name of the employee. Within an employee’s project, we form new Groups for each of their different projects and then drop all of the required tasks for those projects into the relevant categories.
Being able to collaborate with other team members in this way means employees can easily search another employee’s projects and tasks, so we are all on the same page and we know exactly who is working on what.

DropTask has been extremely helpful in managing the activities within our organization, particularly when we purchased the assets of an old copper plant in Quebec. With this purchase, there were many aspects that needed to be considered and arranged such as the legal side of things, auction services and rigging services – as well as health and safety and environmental factors.
On a typical day, one employee will create a task in the “chase the sale opportunity” category. They will enter in details about the sale and its opportunities. Once the sale is complete, they will forward the task on to the next person who will review the details, mark it as complete and then create a new task for “auction services”. They will enter in the details and once that is all arranged and complete, they will forward it on the next person and so on and so forth.
This is great as we have multiple properties on the go and this way helps us to stay on the same page and stay organized. We use the alert and deadline feature to remind ourselves of the tasks that need to be done by a certain date and we love the filtering as it helps us locate tasks quickly and easily. Being able to label our tasks by urgency is also a huge benefit.
