In this post, ThinkBuzan Licensed Instructor Steve Molyneux discusses how iMindMap HD has helped to propel his training company, the iPad Academy, and his experience of delivering iMindMap HD training using iPads in schools.
Steve is the CEO of the iPad Academy, an Apple Distinguished Educator and advocate for forward-thinking technology in the educational system. He became a ThinkBuzan Licensed Instructor in January 2012 and subsequently, Steve combined his passion for Apple products with his expertise in iMindMap.
Since becoming ThinkBuzan Accredited, Steve now teaches educators across the UK how to utilise iMindMap HD app on iPads and has seen this dimension of the company skyrocket.
Named as one of the Top 10 UK Movers and Shakers in Education & Training, Steve has also provided independent consultancy to an impressive list of clientele including Apple Europe, British Computer Society, Cambridge University Press, AstraZeneca, the National Guard (USA), the British Home Office, The Department of Health and the Ministry of Defence.
iPad initiatives are revolutionising the way in which schools meet and deliver their vision for ICT across the curriculum. The aim of the iPad Academy is to integrate iMindMap and iPad technology into classrooms as another tool to innovate teachers and ensure that such technology has a positive impact on the students’ learning experience.
The iPad Academy is working full steam ahead introducing iMindMap to state schools, independent schools and leading Universities across the UK.
The Academy already has many accolades to its name. Firstly, the iPad Academy are Britain’s largest consultants for iPad training in education with over 20 Academy Training centres in the UK alone. They currently work with over 250 schools in England and are the sole supplier for tablet training in the public sector in Scotland, giving the company a strong foothold in the UK’s booming iPad and education cross-sector.
As a ThinkBuzan Licensed Instructor, Steve is accredited to deliver his own training courses in iMindMap. This provides a wide range of courses via the iPad and a fast-growing dimension of the business is their iMindMap HD training courses. Steve provides 1 day inset training for teachers and shows them how to Mind Map using iMindMap HD on iPads.
Within this area, the iPad Academy offers three tailored courses:
“I received Official iMindMap training from Tony Buzan and became accredited which gave me the motivation to incorporate iMindMap into the iPad Academy’s portfolio. The iMindMap side of the company wouldn’t have taken off had I not attended the ThinkBuzan Licensed Instructor course. As a result, I have been able to introduce Mind Mapping via the iPad to hundreds of students and teachers throughout the UK – the results have been phenomenal.”
The iPad Academy is constantly looking for new ways to turn education on its head. With the fast approaching summer holidays, they will be taking the time to review the previous year’s busy schedule and prepare for the next school term.
In addition to this, Steve and his team at the iPad Academy are continuing to expand with an upcoming Academy centre soon to be launched in Cardiff, UK – the home of ThinkBuzan Headquarters!
