An erupting inbox can cause your stress levels to soar and make you lose sight of your priorities. Tackling your inbox and your workload can seem like an impossible challenge, but don’t lose hope!

Become an organisational wizard with these 4 steps to ensure you work to your maximum potential and get your projects completed on time.
Create a Mind Map first thing in the morning, so you can visualise your daily tasks and gain a clear perspective of what you have to do. It will help you set achievable goals to tick off as you work through.
Don’t ignore emails, but unless an email is significantly more important than the goal you are currently working towards, it can wait. Set designated time aside to go through emails that do not require an immediate response. This will relieve time pressures that can cannibalise your daily workload, allowing you to actually get started on your projects. Add child branches to your Mind Map to give each task a priority, time frame and deadline. You are much more likely to complete a task if you write down when you are going to do it and set a deadline.
Visualising your tasks may not sound like a productivity booster, but being able to understand why you are doing something and how it contributes to the bigger picture can help you eliminate the surplus tasks that can be reviewed at a later date.
For each task in your Mind Map, add the end goal it will help you to achieve. Can’t think of one? Then it isn’t a priority and you need to question whether it needs to be done at all…
iMindMap has recently bolted on a new productivity rocket; a collaboration with visual task management app, DropTask*. Export individual branches, or your entire Mind Map from the iMindMap interface, into the equally visual DropTask.
DropTask allows you to visually track and fluidly update the progress of your work.
*Only available in iMindMap Ultimate.
