ThinkBuzan Licensed Instructor, Patrick Zimbardo, shared with us his recent experience working with Management students on their resumes using iMindMap
As Visiting Professor of Information Sciences, I recently worked with 60 students in their 4th year of International Management of HEM (High Education in Management), at one of the greatest business schools in Morocco, on Mind Mapping as part of a course in Competitive Intelligence.
The task was Normative Information destructuring of their traditional resume and the restructuring of this information in Personal Resources. Using Mind Maps to do this gave them a medium for presenting their acquired knowledge throughout the 4 years of studies and declaring their individual developed skills.
The students found that freehand Mind Maps were allowing better destructuring of their information. Beyond the playful approach of the exercise, they were able to capture a first approach of “information cycle”; a fundamental process in information management.
Mind Mapping is incorporated throughout the course in many other ways, including building project teams of complementary skills and organising missions and action plans in project mode.
This November I will also be delivering another course in “cognitive engineering” at ISEN (Institute Superior Electronic Numeric), an engineering school in Toulon, where I will apply Mind Mapping to Design Project….
